"...when the divine portion began to
fade away, and became diluted too often
and too much with the mortal admixture,
and the human nature got the upper hand...they
behaved unseemly...and grew visibly
debased...they were full of avarice
and unrighteous power."
Athene, a pure
Xylanthian, looked out over the glorious
city of Atlantis, but the beauty was
becoming clouded by an ill spirit in
the populous. Greed and prejudice were
spreading quickly. An army had been
formed and Athene knew that trouble
was on the horizon. Athene gathered
a band of like minded freedom-seekers
and they departed Atlantis. They migrated
to the west and then to the south, finally
establishing a new kingdom, which they
called Athens, to honor Athene.
